Option 3 -You will fold your paper into 1/4's. Draw a figures in each area. The figures can be doing any pose. There are some examples above that you can pull from. Then chose 2 sets of colors for example red/green or purple/yellow. You will color your work as you see next to the instructions.( You will switch the colors)

Week 7-  How to Draw a Landscape

Many famous artist did landscapes in their own style such as Vincent Van Gogh, Salvador Dali, Georgia O'Keeffe, Edward Hopper and many more. The landscapes you see below are from some of the artists. In all of the pictures you are able to see the horizon line and the different grounds. Let them inspire your own landscape.

Directions: You will be drawing a Landscape of your choice. The examples above can be used as inspiration. I want you to draw to your level. Start by setting up your composition. Where would your horizon line ( line that separates earth from sky) start? Use the info in sketching from nature.

When you've made your horizon line, focus on your space. Background, Middle, foreground. (Work in this order) Working with your background first, what do you see? Sky? Trees, hills? As your sketching your landscape, thing about sizing and overlapping. If a tree is drawn in the background and foreground, which tree would be bigger/smaller?(foreground/background)

Overlapping is also helpful when creating landscapes. Overlapping in art is the placement of objects over one another in order to create the illusion of depth.

Relax! Have fun!!! Once you've completed your sketch try adding values and textures to your landscape. Using pencil, colored pencils, pastels etc.

Below you will find step by step drawing of landscape if you are not sure where you need to start.

Please share your efforts with me :)   amy.wilkins@cobbk12.org

Kindergarten ,1st and 2nd grade lesson

You will chose one of the picture groups above these instructions. Look at them closely for what makes them alike and what makes them different. You will use a Venn diagram as seen below to compare and contrast the pictures( alike/ different) You can use the information below on the Elements of Art and Principals of Design to help you. An example of this might be: The colors the artist used are very dark.  To complete this diagram, you will need to follow the instructions below, The supplies needed for this lesson is a piece of paper and a pencil.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR VENN DIAGRAM

Read all three questions before you begin.

1) Write what you notice about one of the painting in  one the groups above. Write in as much detail as you can.

2) Repeat the process for the other picture in the group .

3) Lastly, write down what is the same about the images

3rd,4th and 5th grade lesson

You will be doing 2 critique on 2 of the paintings that are above. You will be describing, analyzing and interpreting the works of art. The information on the elements of art, principles of design, and looking at artwork posters  will be helpful when you start writing about the artwork you have chosen. I made the form below to show how might could lay out your responses.  You do not have to use it,as long as I see the 3 parts of the lessons. Please make sure you state which artwork you do the critique on so I can follow what you have written.

Please send your responses to me at amy.wilkins@cobbk12.org

What do you think is going on?

WATCH THE VIDEO ON PABLO PICASSO  4-20-20   week5

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1BdaC_PwC0

I hope you enjoyed the video on Pablo Picasso. He was an artist that was not afraid to experiment with his artwork. Today you are going to experiment with creating our own Cubist face. This is where you will combine 2 views of a face into one, I will show you how to do it in a variety of ways. Then I want you to make a choice on what you want to do. Have fun and be creative.  Work at the level you feel comfortable.

The 2 views are frontal and profile. Frontal view is when you are looking straight forward. Profile view is the side view of the face. Try and add both in your creation

Here are some helpful ideas for your Picasso Portrait

cubc_edited.jpg
cubb_edited.jpg
cub1.png

Start with a piece of paper about 9 by 11 (construction paper, copy paper, newspaper or notebook paper) and black marker or crayon or pencil

Fold your paper about 5 to 8 time and then open the paper and lay it flat.

Take the black marker and go over the lines the folds have created.

Look at the paper in all the different directions, then decide which way will best fit your cubist face. Remember to incorporate the profile and frontal features (see examples above).

Once the face is complete add color.

cubd.jpg

Here you can follow allow along with the step by step picture. Though know you are not limited to just this shape. You can change it to a square, circle, or even a triangle. You can also do a free-form shape. You are limited to your own imagination.

Once you figure out the face shape add the line for the profile face and then add the other features. Add color to your face.

cuba_edited.jpg

You can also do a collage. A collage is where you find different thing such as different papers, magazines, and many other things that are glued down to a paper to create an artwork.
Choose two different-colored pieces of 8" x 6" paper. Using both pieces of paper, they cut two identical
ovals. (You can change the shape)
One oval is glued into a larger piece of background paper.
The other oval is used to create a profile of a face
Students cut a profile shape out of the second oval and then glue it on top of the first oval.
Students will use scraps to create "mixed-up" eyes, noses, mouths in the style of Picasso.
Hair is added to the background paper using marker or paper.

    WEEK-4

This week Kindergarten through 5th grade will be doing Origami .

Please watch the video I made. Once you watch it, I would like for you to try your hand at make some origami creatures. Work at your own level and pace. I can't wait to see what you make:)!!!!!

Websites are located at the bottom of the page if it makes it easier to see.

Supplies Needed:  Square piece of paper (Any size will do.  6" and 10" square are standard) The paper can be anything such as newspaper, magazines, copy paper.
